There are a number of venues in Durham Region that I absolutely love coming back to, Deer Creek Golf Course and Banquet Facility is definitely one of them and at the top of the list. Nestled in the north part of Ajax, this sprawling golf course has absolutely gorgeous and well manicured grounds with no shortage of amazing backdrops for wedding photos. The banquet hall just like the grounds, doesn't disappoint. The large halls with floor to ceiling windows let plenty of natural light in and never make the space look and feel like larger and grander than it already is.
Jennah and Steve are the kind of couple with whom you can sit down share some travel stories and not realize how much time has gone by. The entire day was just very smooth and at points I felt as if I was spending time with people whom I've known for years.
The groomsmen... I typically don't spend too much time talking about the bridal party, but oh man! They were just some of the most upbeat, fun and ridiculously awesome individuals that I've had the pleasure of meeting. Steve and the guys played hockey growing up and that friendship is very, very clear. I'm not going to to ruin anything, but definitely do a double take when looking at the groomsmen photos after the ceremony...
Photo Tip: For family formal photos I try to keep the location as close to the ceremony site as possible and try to keep everyone as comfortable as possible, meaning that I'm usually searching for a large area with plenty of shade. Deer Creek has just that, I typically try to use East side of the building (right next to the pond) to provide very even shade, but it means being a little creative so that no golf carts photo bomb the family formals.
